In July, some of the Huddle group along with other young people from projects run by St. Michael's, went away with Greenwich Youth for Christ (GYFC) on a weekend residential trip to Grosvenor Hall in Kent. The group were all girls.
The weekend included a variety of activities, such as abseiling, indoor climbing, outdoor lazer tag and a campfire. Alongside these activities GYFC ran two sessions looking at strong female characters from the Bible and what they could teach us today. The group looked firstly at Ruth, learning about her faithfulness and loyalty and how our decisions can have a lasting impact. Then Esther and what it means to stand up for something you believe in.
The whole trip was thoroughly enjoyable, it was great to see the girls working as a team, supporting one another to overcome fears and problems, building some great friendships and achieving things they didn’t think were possible. It was also encouraging to see a group of young people thinking about the Christian Faith and the impact their decisions and choices can have on their peers and communities.
